Pruned Stand Certification Scheme
Overview
The Pruned Stand Certification Scheme (PSC) was set up in 1991 by Forest Research as an independent pruning record keeping facility. The concept of the Scheme is that the existence of "independent” records will add value at harvest in that the timing and key statistics relating to each pruning operation will enable a qualified assessment of the clearwood in the forest.
Management of the Scheme is now contracted to MTS Ltd who provide further details about the Scheme on their Web Site at www.mtsl.co.nz/psc.htm.
As Forest Enterprises internal Stand records contain more detailed information than that required by the PSC, since the year 2000 any new forest investments are no longer part of the Scheme.
