The New Zealand Institute of Forestry (NZIF) is a national organisation of people involved in all aspects of the discipline of forestry. Incorporated in 1927, it now has over 700 members from Government, industry, research and consulting fields, providing a "professional umbrella" for those involved in forest management.
The Institute's objectives include being an independent advocate for forestry and serving its members by providing recognition of professional standards. NZIF's Registered Forestry Consultant scheme aims to raise and maintain the standards of professional forestry in New Zealand.
