Creating wealth. Naturally.

For 50 years, Forest Enterprises has been helping New Zealanders grow their wealth by investing in sustainable forestry.

When our business was established in 1972 in Masterton, New Zealand our mission was the same then as it is today: maximise returns to our investors by prudently managing their Radiata pine forest and their investment.

Focusing on what we do well – this unique combination of sustainable forest management, investment administration, and log harvest and marketing – has made us New Zealand’s most successful forestry investment company.

Our investors’ forests in the Wairarapa, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay regions are among the country’s best. The forests we established here in the 1990s are now harvesting, and as we replant the second rotation crop, we aim to inspire the next generation of investors to add forestry to their portfolio.

It’s natural that some things will have changed over half a century. Forestry’s contribution to the economy and its role in our environment has never been as significant as it is now. Plus, wood’s natural and sustainable attributes are starting to receive the social and political profile they deserve. We welcomed the improved standards of New Zealand’s robust new financial markets and workplace health and safety regimes.

But, thankfully, some things haven’t changed… We’re still proudly based in Masterton, and from here managing over 20,000 hectares of forest for 6,500 individual investors, most of whom are New Zealanders. We still embrace innovation, sustainable values and talent to enable our business. And our commitment to professionally serving our clients remains as steadfast as ever.
